West Hatch High School has installed a 85 kWp Solar PV array on their roofs.

The Background

West Hatch High School is a large secondary school in Chigwell, Essex.  They believe that good schools can and do make a difference and that they owe it to their students to do their very best by them. They take their responsibility very seriously to provide opportunities within both the formal and informal curriculum that will prepare their students for life. West Hatch also aspires to create successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens. The school were keen to find a way of saving the school money and Solar PV was a great fit. Not only have they now reduced their Carbon footprint and energy bills, they are receiving income from the government backed incentives. Through using Carbon Trust approved funding, West Hatch were able to do this with no capital outlay.
