Weatherfield Academy have installed a 30kWp Solar PV array on their roofs.
The Weatherfield Academy is a special school with just over 100 pupils based in Central Bedfordshire. Their school motto is “become the best person you can be”. Renewable energy is very important to everyone at Weatherfield Academy, as an Eco-school and one of the first in the country, to gain the award. They are very aware of the use of our energy and pupils throughout the school have a responsibility as eco-monitors to save energy, recycle and reuse items wherever possible. They chose to install solar PV panels as they wanted to lower their carbon footprint as much as possible. The Trustees and Governors of Weatherfield Academy also want to spend as little as possible on energy use and PV panels will allow them to considerably lower their electricity bills in a clean and efficient way.
“The whole process from beginning to end was professional, clear and concise and took very little time and resources in order to see the complete project through. Evogreen has clear pathways for all areas of the installation from initial meetings, contract work, planning and then installation. There was clear communication from Evogreen and there were no third parties involved. Evogreen handled the complete process. From safety installation to pre-contract paperwork, to the training on how the solar panels work, took two and a half days. There was minimal disruption to our daily work and on the final day the team who completed the installation joined the whole school for lunch in the school canteen. They were all approachable and our pupils, who asked questions, were given time and attention. I would fully recommend Evogreen.” Joe Selmes – Headteacher
