The Hewett School have installed 2 ETA Hack 350kWh Biomass Boilers on site.
The Hewett School is a large secondary school based in Norwich. They were the first in Norfolk to create a Foundation Trust to support their work on behalf of our students and the local community. As an Eco-School they are dedicated to lowering their carbon footprint and energy costs. The school were faced with the issue of very old gas boilers which were becoming increasingly unreliable. The cost of replacement for these gas boilers would have spiraled into the hundreds of thousands of pounds. This would have had to have come out of their annual budget. Following a series of discussions with Evogreen, they realised that they were able to take advantage of Carbon Trust approved funding to allow them to install a carbon neutral Biomass Boiler system. This system is forecast to generate significant income from the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) on top of delivering a far more reliable heating system with state of the art monitoring capabilities.
“A failure of one of our main boilers triggered an investigation into alternative energy solutions. We invited a number of organisations to outline what they were able to offer the school in terms of an energy efficient solution. We found Evogreen to be professional, diligent and flexible in their approach and both governors and the school were confident in the solution and benefits commissioned.” “The installation process has been relatively straightforward and we now have a fully operational biomass heating system generating a significant level of income for the school, whilst being cost neutral overall from year one. In addition the school is contributing towards the very important goal of reduced carbon emissions.” – Joanna Tuttle – Accountant
