Radio Structures Ltd have installed a total of 29.25kWp Solar PV array on their roofs.
Radio Structures Ltd, Northampton were established by Garry Jones in 1979, initially as an installation rigging company and after seeing poor quality products and large lead times in the industry they swiftly became a manufacturer of high quality antennas and enabling reducing the industry lead times. Seeing a similar issue with the tower and mast structure manufacturers Radio Structures designed modular type towers and masts that ranged from 3 metres tall to over 70 metres in height. This year they have started another arm of the business supplying safety training to industry engineers in working at heights, tower and structural rescue, confined space, First aid, Rope access, Advanced climber and many other courses and they have recently been accredited as an Arqiva approved training centre.
Due to high electricity costs and the company’s carbon footprint reduction plan, Solar PV proved to be a great option as not only are they able to reduce their electricity bills but with the government backed FiT (Feed-in-Tariff) they are able to produce a significant income and helping the business fulfil its carbon footprint reducing targets. The solar panels are an ideal addition to supply green electricity to the company’s fleet of fully electric vehicles.
