Philip Morant School and College

The Philip Morant School & College have installed a 50 kWp Solar PV array.

The Background

The Philip Morant School and College is a high achieving 11-18 Academy that prides itself upon its academic standards and personal development. Its ethos is one of care and support, challenging every student to achieve their full potential in everything they do. Being an Eco-School education about sustainable energy is very important. At Philip Morant they believe that renewable energy should be important to everyone who understands the global challenges ahead in terms of energy generation, conservation and the ‘Green Agenda’. Leadership is needed in this area and Public Sector organisations have a big part to play in this process. It gives pupils an increased awareness of environmental issues, their role in society as responsible citizens and also directly in relation to increased resources for them in respect of their Learning objectives as the cost savings made will be re-invested directly into their education.

Testimonials

“Evogreen were professional, responsive, very easy to work with and did what they said they would do. At each layer of their organisation they have competent people dealing with every part of the process effectively. The process was well organised, communication with the school was consistent and timely, and each stage of the process was explained, made clear and delivered on time. They are an efficient organisation that is very customer facing.” – Paul Harrison – Finance and Operations Director

“The Eco activities at the school are being embedded into many aspects of school life and curriculum delivery. Elements of work relating to ‘Environmental awareness’ and the Science behind the technology are being discussed and interrogated in lessons, for example, monitoring of the power generation of the initial Solar Panels is being actively monitored by students over a period of time against weather patterns to prove what conditions produce the best effect. This is being further analysed by our Mathematicians in their analysis work at GCSE. The Art department are taking the opportunity to create collages of the different aspects of the ECO-Work being carried out at the school. Philip Morant intend to further embrace the ‘Green Agenda’ and ultimately aim for ‘Gold Status’ as an Eco-School. Thank you EVO-GREEN for helping the school on its ‘Green Journey’.” – Catherine Hutley – Principal.
