Denny Bros Ltd

Denny Bros has installed a 50 kWp Solar PV array on their roof in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.

The Background

Denny Bros Ltd is a Suffolk based company in Bury St Edmunds, inventors of the Fix-a-form multi-page label supplying a number of different markets. Renewable energy is important to Denny Bros and they wish to reduce their dependence on fossil fuels. There was also a strong business case as well as the environmental argument. After considering the various options Solar PV was the best choice for them as they understood it to be a well proven technology, providing a better return on investment, and is easier to install than other renewable technologies.

What really sets this installation apart from others is that Denny Bros have installed Solar Edge Power Optimisers which boost the inverter efficiency to an impressive 99.5%. Each panel works autonomously, lessening the overall effects of partial shading and short-term environmental conditions which would otherwise affect the whole of the system.

The Installation

  •  50 kWp solar PV array
  • Axitec Polycrystalline Solar Panels
  • Solar Edge 3-Phase Inverters with Power Optimisers
  • Solar Edge Web Based Monitoring System

  • Annual output of 45,000 kWh
  • Reduced energy costs of £122,878 over the project lifespan
  • 468 tonne reduction in CO2 emissions over the project lifespan
  • Revenue generated from the FiT and Export Tariff £151,635 over the project lifespan

“What we ended up with was a specification that is somewhat higher than many other PV installations, and this should provide us with a higher overall output than a more standard installation. Evogreen provided the best support all round, and really seemed to want to work with us. They also provided the best overall value for money.

I was particularly pleased to be able to get a 20 year warranty for the inverters, and would definitely be happy to work with Evogreen on other projects in the future.”
